What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a common and natural human response to stress, characterized by feelings of
unease, worry, fear, or apprehension. It is a normal reaction that can help us stay alert and
focused in challenging or dangerous situations. However, when anxiety becomes excessive,
uncontrollable, and interferes with daily life, it may indicate an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health conditions that involve persistent and excessive
anxiety or fear about various aspects of life. These conditions can vary in their specific
symptoms and severity, but they generally share some common features including physcial
symptoms, negative thinking patterns, avoidance behaviors such as avoiding certain places or
situations, and significant impact on various areas of life, including work, school, relationships,
and social activities.
